All The Money In The World
So I've watched Molly's Game and I'm standing in the cinema thinking do I watch Hostiles starring Christian Bale or do I watch All the money in the world?
The answer was obvious. All the money in the world is directed by one of the greatest directors ever, Ridley Scott. Alien and Gladiator are just some of this epic directors highlights.
On top of that it's inspired by true events and one of the greatest actors of the modern age, Mark Whalberg is in it. Mark turns everything he touches to gold. From Ted to Transformers he is just brilliant.
However he is not the lead in this movie. That honour goes to Michelle Williams. She plays an excellent role as the mother of her son who is kidnapped by some very nasty kidnappers who demand a huge sum in ransom.
Unfortunately the only person that can pay that is her son's Grandfather, played by Christopher Plummer. I actually got angry at how tight this guy is. He's a billionaire yet will not spend a penny. Awful awful man. But brilliantly played by Plummer.
An interesting fact is that this role was originally played by Kevin Spacey and was reshot with Plummer. We all know why that had to happen but in Plummer they got an excellent actor.
This film will make you angry but it is absorbing and such a tense story. It will upset you but you won't want to tear your eyes away from the screen. Not Ridley Scotts absolute best but very very good. Four stars.
