Game Night

I was so looking forward to this movie. I mean the actors in it, wow! The hilarious and awesome Jason Bateman, the gorgeous Rachel McAdams, Kyle Chandler, one of the actors from Westworld and many many more it really is an all star cast.

The premise of the movie is that Kyle Chandler plays Jason Batemans brother and he joins them on one of their epic game nights, where all the couples compete against each other in different games such as charades and have I ever. All the while they are trying to keep it secret from their unusual neighbour, played by Jesse Plemons who you may well remember from the excellent tv series, Breaking Bad.

Kyles character decides to up the stakes and plans a more authentic game night where he is kidnapped and the rest of the couples are left clues to solve the mystery.

Unfortunately it turns out that Kyles character has some secrets in real life which means what was fake turns out to be something very different.

Cue lots of hilarious events as the three couples try to rescue him and solve the mystery of what is really happening. The scene with the blood and the dog (I can't give anymore detail than that or it would give it away), is really funny.

What did dissapoint me is that although this is a very funny movie, it's not the 5 star movie the trailers made it out to be. In fact, you could argue the best scenes are shown in the trailers.

However, this shouldn't deter you from watching what is a very funny movie with an all star cast. If you like comedies, especially car chase comedies you will really enjoy this. Whilst it didn't hit the heights of a 5 star movie, it certainly is a very good and very funny 4 star one.

In conclusion, if you like comedies and car chases (and I do), you will love this film. Well worth a watch and a great way to pass the time. Four stars awarded.
