The Campaign
You maybe wondering why I haven't posted many film reviews lately. It's quite simply because, excluding what I have already seen, there is nothing on at the cinema that I want to see. I've seen the brilliant Deadpool 2, but apart from the new Star Wars movie there is nothing else decent on and i'm not a Star Wars fan!
I really hope the above comments are only a short term thing as otherwise I may have to reconsider my unlimited card membership and I do not want to do that. Where are all the decent action movies? The thrillers? The comedies? The horror movies? Thank goodness very soon the new Jurassic Park movie comes out as i cannot wait for that!
So, it seems like so far in 2018 there hasn't been anything like the decent selection of movies we have had in 2017. That has led me to days like today where I've ended up at home watching movies on either Amazon or Netflix.
It was with great excitement that I stumbled across the comedy movie The Campaign, starring the always hilarious Will Ferrell, star of such movies as Anchorman and also starring Zach Galifianakis, who was brilliant in the hilarious Hangover movie series.
Thankfully, I wasn't dissapointed. This was an hilarious comedy with both actors on top form. The story is that they were both running for office as congressman of the 14th district of the United States. Cue fun and hijinks and slapstick humour.
The movie is well directed, by that i mean the director gets the best out of the two comedians, and it is an hilarious and enjoyable 90 minute comedy.
It's nothing too taxing on the brain and it'll never win an Oscar but it is an enjoyable watch and very funny. The scene with the baby is hilarious and also slightly shocking at the same time. It leaves you rubbing your eyes thinking 'did I really see Will Ferrells character do that?'
In conclusion if you have some spare time and are bored at home because there's nothing decent on at the cinema to watch put your feet up and laugh along for 90 minutes with two hilarious and brilliant comedians. You won't be dissapointed. Does what it says on the tin, four stars awarded.
